About the Journal

Ecothe is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to interdisciplinary research in ecotheology and sustainability. We welcome original contributions in British English, French, German, and Scandinavian languages (Norwegian, Swedish, Danish).

In addition to the publisher (Embla Academic Publishing House), the journal is run and supported by the following networks and institutions: 

European Christian Ecotheology Research Network (ECErN), Science and research center of Koper, Slovenia, Volos Academy for Theological Studies, Greece; Agendada 22, Norway.

Submission Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be original and not under review elsewhere.
  • Please register an account and submit your manuscript here. Contact the editorial secretary if you experience any technical difficulties.
  • Language: British English, French, German, or Scandinavian (Norwegian, Swedish, Danish).
  • Length: Maximum 35000 characters, inclusive of tables, references, figure or table captions, and footnotes.
  • Style: Chicago Manual of Style, 17th edition (Notes and Bibliography).
  • Include title, abstract (max 150 words), and 5–7 keywords.
  • Submit in Word (.docx) or LaTeX (.tex) format.

Formatting

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt; Line spacing: 1.5; Margins: 2.5 cm.
  • Use footnotes for references and commentary.
  • Include complete bibliography at the end.
